Feed The Poor Program

"The best charity is to feed a hungry person on a day of severe hunger"

It was the last week of April 2020 that we received an information from our member (Ashiq) and a volunteer about the hunger of the poor people in Edamalaipatti Pudur, Trichy. Although the government has implemented several welfare schemes, sometimes they do not reach the right people at the right time due to several reasons. After a lot of discussions and thinking we accepted to assist the people with the most essential raw material for their daily food requirements.

The Survey

Helping the needy is not very easy, especially during Corona-virus crisis. So we decided to ask the targeted people their needs, then answer came out as rice. So based on their requirement, we decided to help them. We selected ten families to be helped based on their living conditions and need.

The Project

Due to the national level lock-down, all our team members were unable to reach the locality. So we asked our representative and volunteers to help us do the work on 5th May 2020. We are obliged to thank them for all their dedication. Our volunteers from Edamalaipatti Pudur actively bought two rice sacks of 25 kg each. They further packed them into ten 5 kg bags and distributed it to the needy people (beneficiary). They took proper care and precautions to be hygienic both during packing and distribution process. With mercy of the God, our team completed the work. 

Our View on Taking Photos

We strongly believe taking photos of the beneficiary is an abuse for the service and help that we are doing. In other words it suppresses the humanity and promotes pride. But we also know that people do this for two major reasons one is to show the proof and other is to show-off. 

We take photos as a proof, only with due permission and with dignity and respect. Two small children requested us that their pictures need to be present, so with permission from their parents, we proceeded. But truly their smiles brings happiness to our hearts and so we decided to share their smiles with you.
