Colour is a character of an object based on the reflection of light. This is just a definition of the word colour. But in reality colour is a flavour of life, a treat for eyes and an healing for our mind. For a person with normal vision, a world without colours is one of the many nightmares. We choose most of the things we buy based on its colour. Here is an interesting, rather emotional yet inspiring story, about a blind child and colours.
A mother called out to her son in an alertly voice, "Oh my son where are you?" A boy replied in a confused voice, "I am here, at the backyard". Understanding the confused state of her son, she comforted him and then asked him "Tell me what made you confused, my dear son?"
The boy replied, "Mom, today my friends were talking about something called colours, can you tell me what is it?" With some deep thinking, his mother replied, "Colour is a property of objects, seen by people, they vary with intensity and are bright and dull". On hearing this the boy asked, "Then tell me which is the brightest colour?" His mother replied instantaneously "The colour you could see, black, black is the brightest colour".
