Feed The Poor 2.0

 "Feeding the poor on the day of severe hunger is one of the best charity"

Peace be upon you all. Without doubt this is one of the hardest time in the history of mankind, a lot of people are suffering, many lost their jobs, many got sick, many lost their loved ones. Being a social welfare organization we were planning for our next event as usual. With some thinking, we planned to feed the hungry and needy people staying for treatment at Government Hospital, Trichy.

Pre-Project Field Work

It is always important to analyse the situation before doing anything. So to understand the situation and the heat of the moment, we visited Trichy GH before a week. We had small talks with the locals and the securities working there to understand the place and the people better. During a conversation with a security officer, we came to know about another NGO working regularly in that GH. On knowing about them, we got excited to meet them. And the big name is Agasthiyar Annadhanam.

Few words about Agasthiyar Annadhanam

Agasthiyar Annadhanam is located in the street opposite to GH. When we reached their place, we were surprised about the way they were. Their infrastructure and the cow farm in the middle of the city was unbelievable. They are working on this kind of social work for more than 40 years. They had 24 hours water truck, made meal for the needy people three times a day and also had few mini projects. They were a source of inspiration.

We asked them if we could make use of their infrastructure for a day and serve food on following Sunday. So we talked with them and planned our project for the following Sunday.

The Project

Finally the most awaited day (28th March) arrived. As we planned we gathered together. We waited for the food to arrive. Meanwhile we had some conversation with the founder of Agasthiyar Annadhanam. He shared his experience and some life's lesson. Then came the mini truck which arrived with the food. We unloaded it, arranged the ambiance according to the need. Then we sent a caller, calling people from GH to get the food. One of the best things we observed is that everyone were wearing a mask. They all stood in a queue. We got ready with enthusiasm and  started serving the people with food. There was a long queue and it really took a lot of time. There were around 350 people.

The emotion and the happiness on their face was priceless. Everyone must feel the joy of helping others. I take this moment to thank all the supporters of UHC. We had some great time there. After the people stopped coming , we carried the food to the gate of the Government Hospital. After every needy person was feed, we came back. Then we bid goodbye with hearts filled with happiness. This is all about our wonderful project. All praise and thanks is to the God. Social service and work will always recharge the battery called humanity.
