Clothe the Poor

Peace be upon you all. Towards the end of the month of July we planned for our next project. We wanted to do something different, unique. We always stick to the basics as they are the most essential. As they say food, water, clothe and shelter are the basic needs of life, we choose to clothe the homeless people based on the results of a poll conducted on our Instagram page.

Clothe : A Basic Need

Many of us think that food and water are the basic needs for life. But clothing and shelter are equally important. A clothe has two basic purpose, one is to protect our dignity and the other is to protect us from heat and cold. One of the major difference between human beings and animals is the clothe.

Our Plan 

We planned to buy clothes for thirty people. We bought lungis and sarees, as they are the customary clothes in Tamil Nadu. We thought of distributing the clothes around Trichy, starting from Junction. As it was our first project of this kind, we had no idea on how the beneficiary people were going to react.

The Event

On 25th July, 2021, we collected the newly bought clothes together and started from Railway Junction as planned. We went to a half-constructed bridge and saw some people living under it with torn clothes. We approached them and they came running towards us and we stared giving the clothes one by one until it got over. Then we realised that people are really in need of clothes. One old woman, whom you could see in the picture told us that they somehow get food and water, live under the bridge, but new clothes for them is very rare. The people were grateful and were filled with happiness. 

We take this moment to thank all the donors, supporters, volunteers and all those who are the reason for us to do more projects like this. We hope that all of you will keep supporting us. To be a means of helping others is a gift of the God and so we say all praise and thanks is to the God.
